TZ1600–40 2-sides 1-coating Line

The two main types of coatings used for coil coating include liquid and powder coatings. Aluminium coil coating line supplier LITONG offers you different levels of durability and performance and meets different aesthetic requirements.
In addition, films are used instead of or in addition to lacquers where very high aesthetic quality is required. Films are available in various film thicknesses, colours and finishes (smooth, structured or printed).

Liquid coatings

Liquid coatings must meet a number of basic requirements to be successfully applied:
1 Easy application to provide a uniform appearance and defect-free films even on the fastest production lines.
2 A very short curing time during which the pigment colour remains stable.
3 Flexibility that enables the coated metal to bend without cracking or loss of paint adhesion.

In the early stages of coil coatings, alkyd resins, solution vinyl resins and, to some extent, epoxy resins held a significant market share. Solution vinyls were particularly popular for their excellent bonding properties, polyesters allowed coaters to significantly expand their pallet of colour and gloss products, and silylated polyesters greatly improved the long-term durability of exterior metal panels.

Powder Coatings

Powder coatings can be described as “solid coatings” which melt to form a continuous film on the substrate.
These coatings are easily applied by electrostatic or frictional electrostatic spraying to cover the item being painted. As the thickness of the coating increases, the coating is self-limiting and therefore a uniform film thickness can be achieved. Powder coated articles are cured when the powder melts and flows out to form a continuous film and then reacts chemically to become a solid inert coating.

Thin films

Films are used instead of lacquers where a very high aesthetic quality is required. There are four main types of film: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyfluoroethylene, thermoplastic acrylic and polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
Their advantages include high flexibility and suitability for deep drawing, often with a very high gloss and good hardness.

Model TZ1600–40 coating line is one of the best options for coating factory. 2-sides coating with coating products thickness range 0.2mm~1.0mm is suitable for ACP material, roofing, ceiling material.

LITONG has firstly developed energy-saving and environmental protection aluminum color coating Line with High-speed Roller Continuous Aluminum Anodizing Color Coating Line and other High-tech equipment in the domestic market. Polyesters are Common Types of Coil Coating

  • A coil coating is a thermoset coating applied to continuous metal sheet (typically steel or Zincalume®, but may also be aluminium, etc.), which is then passed through an oven where the coating is heat cured.

The coated sheet steel is then roll-formed to produce the various profiles that are seen on roofing, fencing, etc.

Products are used for cladding, decorative effects or as roofing, fencing guttering, etc. The roll-forming process may sometimes leave some residual lubricant on the sheet surface.

Coil-coated steel sheeting is painted on either or both front and back surface with various combinations of factory applied thermosetting anticorrosive primer and backing coats and topcoated with any of a range of technologies including polyesters, silicon modified polyesters, acrylics and fluoropolymers.

Both powder coatings and coil coatings are very smooth and chemically inert; they display excellent dirt shedding properties and may create problems for recoat paint adhesion.

They provide neither a mechanical nor chemical key for the new coating.

Therefore, both thorough surface preparation, including creating a profile to increase bond area, and choice of primer are essential for adhesion and longterm performance of the new coating system.

Note that there are some types of powder coating or coil coating which, due to their formulation, may not be readily recoatable, no matter what preparation is used.

For example, powder coatings formulated for graffiti resistance and high performance powder or coil coatings (typically based on fluoropolymers) may not be recoatable at all. Where possible contact the manufacturer of the original coating to confirm its suitability for overcoating.

  • Polyesters are Common Types of Coil Coating for:

Flexibility, adhesion and moldability, inexpensive varieties, color, luster selective large, is the most important finish, widely used in interior and exterior building materials, home appliances, and transportation
